Spelunkers can explore a half-dozen of the longest, deepest karst (limestone) caves in Canada plus their pick of hundreds of subterranean alternatives – many of them concentrated in the pockmarked landscape known as the Quatsino Formation near the hamlet of Quatsino. Beginners, meanwhile, can get a taste of the sport at Little Huson Regional Park Caves. A self-guided tour here includes stops at a natural rock bridge and walk-in, cathedral-style cave.
