Outer Shores’ small-ship expeditions provide extraordinary and intimate opportunities for being immersed in the ancient cultures and stunning wildlife of Canada’s Pacific Coast. Guided by a crew of professional mariners and expert naturalists, small groups of 6-8 guests explore the incredible coastline of British Columbia while living and cruising aboard the 70’ classic wooden schooner, Passing Cloud. President and Captain Russell Markel holds a PhD in marine biology and is dedicated to hosting travellers from around the world while fostering stewardship and supporting conservation-based research in the areas where Outer Shores travels.

I have searched the globe for authentic trips to build inspiration, appreciation, and a sense that we are all connected. Passing Cloud and Outer Shores gave this to our family.

Thank you for a wonderful “unplugging from civilization’ educational, gastronomical delight trip. We enjoyed the rainbows, tidepools, ducks, minks, eagles, osprey, giant sea stars, bears, and whales. We look forward to joining you again!

Thrilling experience, we enjoyed every minute, especially the wonderful immersion in the Outer Shores World. Life is all about experience & learning and we go away with much to think about. The food and care was so excellent. We felt in secure hands with our great crew. Excellent educational talks and information!
